MADISON, Wis. (AP) - Gov. Scott Walker has signed a bill that prohibits people from advertising their children for adoption online.

Current state law prohibits advertising children for adoption through a range of mediums, including newspapers, radio and television but doesn't address the Internet.

The bill also requires parents who want to transfer their custodial powers to someone else for more than a year to go through a court review and prohibits custody transfers that don't comply with the Interstate Compact on the Placement of Children.

Walker signed the bipartisan measure on Wednesday.
